Mobile Science Exhibition
The Mobile Science Exhibition is a dedicated initiative to promote science learning by disseminating knowledge in science, technology, health, and innovation. It aims to foster lifelong learning skills and raise essential awareness, enabling participants to creatively apply scientific knowledge to their daily lives and future educational pursuits.
1. Astronomy Activities
These activities provide foundational knowledge about stars, the solar system, and astronomical phenomena. Our goal is to promote analytical thinking and out-of-classroom learning through creative, easy-to-understand media and engaging activities that make science both fun and inspiring.
2. E-Cigarette Awareness Activities
These activities provide essential knowledge regarding the dangers and health impacts of e-cigarettes. Our objective is to foster a correct understanding among children, youth, and the general public, encouraging informed decisions and healthy lifestyles.
3. Health and Wellbeing Activities
These activities promote healthy behaviors through easy-to-understand media and engaging sessions. The primary goal is to provide practical knowledge that participants can apply to their daily lives, ensuring a sustainable and high quality of life.
4. Local Wisdom Innovation Activities
These activities demonstrate the processing of Thai medicinal herbs into healthy herbal teas. The program is designed to showcase the intrinsic value and therapeutic properties of local herbs, preserving traditional knowledge through modern innovation.
5. AI-Generated Dream Career Activities
This activity offers participants the opportunity to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to visualize and create images of their dream careers. It is designed to spark inspiration and provide new perspectives for future planning through the power of digital creativity.
Lifelong Learning Promotion Activities
Lifelong learning is not confined to the classroom; it is about creating experiences that develop skills, critical thinking, and a sense of public consciousness for people of all ages. It is the heart of adapting to our rapidly changing world and involves nurturing a “love of learning” at every stage of life. This continuous journey focuses on both professional growth through Upskilling and Reskilling, as well as enhancing personal fulfillment and happiness.
Learning Promotion Activities for All Ages
Local Wisdom Innovation Classroom
The Local Wisdom Innovation Room is a learning hub that gathers community knowledge, wisdom, and local identity to be further developed through innovative concepts. Established under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, this space serves the Department of Learning Encouragement (DOLE) as an area for lifelong learning. Its goals are to promote vocational skills, add value to local wisdom, and build strong, sustainable communities.
At the Samut Sakhon Science Centre for Education, the Local Wisdom Innovation Room focuses on the creative transformation of local herbal knowledge. The curriculum includes the production of Sea Holly tea (Plu tea), Pandan tea, Lemongrass tea, and Butterfly Pea tea, all of which are common local plants. Learners study the health benefits, processing steps, and quality control of tea products. These activities foster vocational skills, innovative thinking, and efficient resource management, effectively transforming traditional wisdom into value-added products and fostering sustainable lifelong learning.
Central Science and Technology Laboratory
The Central Science and Technology Laboratory (Central Lab) offers laboratory services to opportunity-extension schools and educational institutions with limited resources. These facilities are provided to support science and technology experiments that align with the Learning Indicators for Science and Technology for students from Grade 4 to Grade 9 (Primary 4 – Secondary 3).
The laboratory’s operations follow the Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (Revised Edition B.E. 2560). Access to the laboratory and its equipment is provided free of charge to eligible schools.
Science Smart Corner Project
Science Smart Corner: Engaging Science with Public Libraries (DOLE)
The Science Smart Corner is an accessible learning hub for people of all ages, genders, and professions, designed to truly meet the community’s needs. We focus on fostering systematic and logical thinking processes, developing individuals into high-quality lifelong learners.
Through a love for reading and engaging scientific activities in collaboration with the Samut Sakhon Science Centre for Education, we use science as a catalyst to stimulate interest in reading. Our hands-on workshops provide practical knowledge for daily life, allowing participants to conduct scientific experiments. This initiative aims to establish Public Libraries (under the Department of Learning Encouragement) as the sustainable learning centers of the community.
Training Project
We provide training programs to develop teachers, instructors, guest speakers, and educational personnel in the fields of science, technology, and the environment. This is a vital process for enhancing the potential of educators and those involved in disseminating knowledge. By strengthening their expertise, we ensure that teaching and learning become more effective and stay aligned with rapid technological advancements and environmental changes.
